This presentation by Nadia Kaneva, moderated by Nana Gongadze, will discuss how Ukraine has used nation-branding techniques to engage global publics through promotion and consumption. The analysis will outline three dimensions – consumer choice, identity projects, and transactional practices – which distinguish how contemporary promotion interpellates publics differently from traditional wartime propaganda.

This event is organized by the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies at Harvard University and co-sponsored by the Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute.
