HUSI Study Break with special guest, Dr. Halyna Padalko

This week's Study Break will feature special guest Dr. Halyna Padalko, disinformation researcher, Fulbright Scholar at MIT, Center for International Studies. Dr. Padalko will examine how AI has become a profound game-changer in the business of information manipulation. Beyond serving as an amplifier and playing a supportive role in conducting infoops, AI itself has become a battlefield, with phenomena such as LLM grooming and data poisoning emerging. On the other hand, AI can be leveraged for the purpose of defending democracies from the malicious impact of autocratic countries, and Ukraine offers a great example of how to leverage AI for democratic purposes.
