## 1. Enroll

### Enroll in the Harvard Ukrainian Summer Institute!

Join the next HUSI cohort by filling out the HUSI Enrollment Form. We encourage prospective students to complete this short online form as early as possible. The HUSI Enrollment Form is simply a statement of intent. If your plans change, just let us know.

#### Enrollment Eligibility:

- Any student who registers for one or more HUSI courses offered by the Harvard Summer School.
- The Harvard Ukrainian Summer Institute is more than "just" courses. Outside the classroom, HUSI students attend lectures and other events, participate in a vibrant community, and are invited to publish on the HUSI Blog.
- HUSI courses are designed for advanced undergraduate students and post-graduates of all kinds, including recent college graduates, current graduate students, and working professionals (professors, scholars, analysts, lawyers, civil servants, journalists, etc). Exceptional high school students are welcome but must contact their instructor(s) prior to registration.

## 2. Register

### Register for courses at the Harvard Summer School!

Harvard Ukrainian Summer Institute (HUSI) courses are offered through the [Harvard Summer School](https://summer.harvard.edu/adult-college-students/) (HSS). Submission of a *HUSI Scholarship Application* and/or the *HUSI Enrollment Form* does not constitute course registration, which is managed by HSS.

Course registration is a multi-step process and can take several weeks, especially for international students. Please carefully review registration instructions, requirements, and deadlines. We recommend that all prospective students register at the Harvard Summer School as soon as registration opens in early March.

During pre-registration, prospective students will create their MyDCE account and complete pre-registration requirements, including verification of English language proficiency. Students cannot register for courses until they have successfully pre-registered.

Course registration involves adding courses to your cart and submitting your registration to HSS. HUSI students may register for either 4 credits or 8 credits of coursework. Thus, students must choose one or two out of the three HUSI courses offered in 2026.

International students and recipients of funding from HURI must be fully registered by April 15, including successfully fulfilling the [English Proficiency Requirement](https://summer.harvard.edu/adult-college-students/course-registration/english-proficiency-requirement/), if applicable.

High school students have a different registration procedure and must apply through the HSS [Secondary School Program](https://summer.harvard.edu/high-school-programs/secondary-school-program/).

## 3. Next Steps

### Plan for your summer at Harvard!

Please refer to the Harvard Summer School academic calendar for important deadlines. Any student who does not make payment to HSS by the payment deadline will be dropped from their courses.

There's still a lot to do after registering for summer courses:

- Apply for visa sponsorship, if applicable
- Secure off-campus housing or apply for on-campus housing
- Claim your HarvardKey, the log-in credentials needed to access your course website
- Meet immunization requirements
- Make travel arrangements.
- And more...

See you in June!

## International Students!

Students who are not native English language speakers are required to submit proof of English proficiency during pre-registration. Students will not be able to register for courses or accept funding from HURI unless the Harvard Summer School approves the required documentation. Please carefully review the HSS English language proficiency requirement. Documentation should be submitted by the end of March. Document review may take several weeks, so please don't wait.

International students who need visa sponsorship must register for 8 credits of courses by April 15, with either undergraduate or graduate credit. The Harvard Summer School provides detailed instructions for international students, which should be reviewed thoroughly.
