Students who wish to study in the U.S. should know about the Educational Advising Centers operated throughout Ukraine by IREX (International Research and Exchanges Board), ACTR/ACCELS (American Council of Teachers of Russian) and the Soros Foundation.

The process of getting accepted to a U.S. university and receiving financial aid is complex and can take up to fifteen months. Ten advising centers have been established in Ukraine to provide a number of functions, including: advising students about study and research opportunities in the U.S.; providing information on financial aid; administering GRE, GMAT, TOEFL and other tests often necessary for admittance; and helping to recruit and select students for U.S.-based programs.
